Laser Hair Removal with PrimeLase – Canberra’s Gold Standard in Hair Reduction

When it comes to personal grooming, hair removal is something both women and men often deal with — whether it’s the legs, face, underarms, shoulders, or other areas. We spend hours shaving, waxing, plucking, or threading, only to endure pain, skin irritation, and regrowth that starts within days.

That’s why more people are turning to long-term solutions like laser hair removal — and at our Canberra clinic, we’re proud to offer the latest generation technology with PrimeLase.

Why PrimeLase? Comfort, Power & Results

PrimeLase is one of the most advanced medical-grade diode laser systems available today, offering faster, more effective, and more comfortable treatments than traditional hair removal methods or outdated IPL machines. The handpiece is equipped with advanced crystal cooling, maintaining a temperature of 5°C throughout treatment to maximise comfort and protect the skin — even in sensitive areas.

Whether you’re targeting stubborn hair on the face, underarms, bikini line, or full legs, PrimeLase delivers superior results with fewer sessions.

Safe for All Skin Types – Including Darker Skin

PrimeLase technology offers multiple wavelengths — including the highly effective 755nm, 810nm and 1060nm — making it safe and effective for all skin types, from fair to deeply pigmented.

Our clinicians are trained to adjust settings based on your skin tone and hair density, ensuring a safe and personalised treatment every time.

Benefits of Laser Hair Removal with PrimeLase

How It Works

PrimeLase works by delivering a concentrated beam of laser energy directly into the hair follicle. The pigment in the follicle absorbs the light, which destroys its ability to regrow without damaging the surrounding skin. This process is safe, targeted, and highly effective at reducing unwanted hair permanently over a course of treatments.

Laser hair removal works best when the hair is darker than the surrounding skin — for example, black or brown hair on lighter skin tones, or dark hair on deeper skin tones. Because PrimeLase includes multiple wavelengths and powerful energy output, it’s effective even on coarse or stubborn hair types.

Frequently Asked Questions – PrimeLase Laser Hair Removal

What does my skin look like after the treatment?

After treatment with PrimeLase, it’s normal to experience mild redness and warmth in the treated area. This usually subsides within 1–3 hours, though some patients may notice lingering redness for up to 24 hours. We apply a calming post-laser gel immediately after treatment, and zinc-based SPF will be used on any exposed areas to protect your skin from UV exposure. Most clients return to daily activities immediately, and it’s unlikely others will notice you’ve had treatment.

Is PrimeLase treatment comfortable?

Yes. PrimeLase includes advanced crystal freeze cooling technology, which keeps the handpiece chilled to 5ºC for optimal comfort. Most patients describe the sensation as a mild tingling or a gentle flick — significantly more comfortable than waxing or IPL. Even sensitive areas such as the bikini line or underarms are well-tolerated with this system.

How many treatments will I need?

Hair grows in cycles, and laser is only effective during the active growth (anagen) phase. Because only a percentage of hair is in this phase at any time, multiple sessions are required. On average, most patients see a 70–90% reduction in hair after 6–8 treatments, spaced 4 weeks apart. Some finer hairs or hormonal areas may require occasional maintenance sessions for best results.

How long does each session take?

Treatment time depends on the size of the area. For example:

Can I have my treatment on the day of my consultation?

Yes, in many cases. If you’re booking a small area and have followed all pre-care instructions (no recent sun exposure or fake tan, and the area is shaved), we may be able to proceed on the same day. However, if you have a darker skin tone or tanned skin, or if the area is large, we may need to perform a test patch first and schedule treatment for a later date to ensure safety and effectiveness.

How should I prepare for my consultation or treatment?

What happens during the consultation?

Your consultation will be with one of our qualified laser clinicians. We’ll assess your skin and hair type, discuss your goals, and determine the most effective settings for your treatment. You’ll also receive a test patch (especially if you have darker skin) to ensure safety. We’ll provide full aftercare instructions and answer any questions you may have.

What if I’m feeling unwell?

Please contact us to reschedule if you’re sick. Your body heals better when it’s healthy, and we want to ensure your experience is safe and comfortable.
